One distinguishing feature of Dota 2 compared to other games in its genre is the capability for players to develop and utilize mods (modifications) that alter various aspects of the game.

There are many different types of mods available for Dota 2, each with their own unique features and benefits. Some mods can completely change the way the game is played. Other mods simply add a new layer of customization to the game.

One popular mod is the “Auto Chess” mod, which changes the game into an auto battler mode where players compete against each other using pre-arranged teams of AI controlled heroes.

Another mod is “Dota 2 VR” mod that allows players to experience the game in virtual reality, giving them a new perspective on the game and a more immersive experience.

One more popular mod is “Dota 2 Customkeys” which allows players to customize their hotkeys and shortcuts for easier and faster access to different actions in the game.

There are also mods that add new items, heroes, and other content to the game, expanding the variety of gameplay options available to players. Some mods are even created to fix bugs and improve the performance of the game.

It is important to note that while most mods are made by community members, some are developed and supported by Valve themselves.
